Hi, I'm Sam.
Pittsburgh --> San Francisco --> New York
My vision is a world in which every female soccer player has an opportunity to stay engaged with the game beyond their time on the field and is paid equally for equal work. My mission is to equip others with resources and practical tools to help them reach their full potential and to inspire others to tap into their entrepreneurial spirit.
. If I am presented with an opportunity that seems exciting, I try to ask myself if this opportunity is inline with my mission. If it isn't, I say no. . Too many people have lost sight of what it means to be human. Why do we exist? What are we here for? What’s our purpose? I firmly believe it’s important to do what I’m good at, what I’m passionate about, and what I feel called to contribute to the world. Instead of pursuing work that fulfills someone else's expectations or the need to gain wealth or status, I want to be courageous enough to live a life of purpose and wholeness. |
SOCCER STARTUP METHODS
When Yael Averbuch approached me to cofound Techne Futbol, I began to realize that there was a bigger opportunity to help bridge the gap between soccer and startups, especially in partnership with professional players.
I've consulted for Abby Wambach, Shannon Boxx, Lori Lindsey, Megan & Rachael Rapinoe, Jordan Angeli + more. I've organized my soccer startup methods into a space to share resources, build community, and offer my services to people in the soccer world who have ideas, but don't know what to do next. |

Experiencing the broken recruiting process firsthand drove me to found ProfilePasser, get into Pittsburgh’s leading incubator, AlphaLab, and build and validate my idea with over 1000 players and 100 coaches -- all while a full-time college student and with only $25k in funding.
Startup Weekend Pittsburgh / 2012
I attended Startup Weekend Pittsburgh and tied for 1st place in the pitch-fire competition. As the youngest participate, I walked away with valuable relationships in the startup community and confident ProfilePasser was a viable business idea worth pursuing.

After scoring the game-winner in overtime to make program history at the NCAA tournament my junior year, I went on to finish as the 9th all-time goal scorer at Grove City College in 2013. I was also named all-conference and given all-region honors.
